Monday, August 1 @ 10 o’clock: Chatfield State Park, Littleton
Due to blue-green algae in the swimming lakes, the beach at Bear Creek Lake Park has been temporarily closed. We’re going to mosey on down the highway to the next swim situation… at Chatfield State Park! Let’s find out together if the new beach area is nice. If you don’t have a state parks pass (raises hand), the daily fee is $10. You can pay on arrival. Let’s set up on the beach around 10 o’clock. Their website says it’s been crowded, so try to be on time-ish, because it’s hard to save space, and I don’t know where to say we’ll meet.
Wednesday, August 3 @ 10 o’clock: Anderson Park, Wheat Ridge
We’re meeting at our swimming hole location in Wheat Ridge – 4355 Field St, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Park near the playground area, then walk over to the swim/play area along the creek together – it’s probably 1/4 mile down. Take the paved, creekside trail to the right, and go to the first turnout/deer trail area on your left side. Follow it to a little pebbled beach. We’ll set up here to swim or tube. Bring sunscreen, food + water for your people and plan to stay as long as you like. I will be away, so look for Becky or Gray and say hello!
