Our Thursday sessions are slated for 1:30-4:30pm. We’re meeting (again) at Matthews/Winters Park – 1103 County Highway 93, Golden, CO. It should be cloudy, but nice outside. Let’s bring some clothes prepped for mud + try to make tree faces on all of our lovely cottonwoods. Have you seen those? They can be pretty surprising to find in the woods.

Head down the hill toward the little bridge over the water. There’s a deer trail to the right that heads into the woods, and that’s where we’ll be! I, Christine, am away this week, so please look for Jennifer + Orion in the woods.

This week, please bring:
Outdoor clothing ready for mud!
A mixing bowl or bucket for mud-making
Sunscreen, snacks + drinks for your people

Upcoming:

It seems easiest if we use a single park for each month, rather than bouncing around. I am going to spread us out northeast and southwest, then centrally again. None of this is set in stone. My goal is water nearby + a nature play area, whatever else we find is extra. If you’d like to suggest an alternate park, I’m all ears! Please email me!

In October, we’ll be meeting at Little Park (21763 Miller Ln, Idledale, CO 80453), and wandering a short, creekside trail toward Lair o’ the Bear. There are many tucked-away water play spaces + fishing holes, and we’ll plan to hike the 1/2-mile up to Lair o’ the Bear to climb trees as well.

Oct 6: Nature Play + Fishing @ Little Park

Oct 13: Nature Play + Dream Catchers @ Little Park

Oct 20: Nature Play + Tree Climbing with a Hike @ Little Park

Oct 27: Nature Play + a Moss/Lichen Seek-n-Find @ Little Park

In November, we’ll be meeting at Prospect Park (W 44th Avenue and Robb Street, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). It’s creekside, with multiple playgrounds, sports fields, pickle ball + fishing lakes.
