We’re meeting 1:30pm at Prospect Park (3862 Youngfield Service Rd, Golden, CO 80401). We’ll be meeting at this park for all of November. This park has construction going on, but we’re free to use the trail system + playground – we just have to walk a bit. Use the address above to find us!

Because of construction in the parking lot near the playground, the address above is for what’s technically called “Wheat Ridge Greenbelt Youngfield Entrance” (sexy, no?). But parking is easy here! We can walk the 1/3 mile to the playground area, jump on cool, foaming rocks midway there, or meander around the ponds to look for crawdads. If we keep walking, there are myriad creekside pullouts and natural play areas all along this trail system. If your kid needs to scooter/bike, there is a paved trail that runs to the playground, but wheels aren’t allowed on the nature trail.

This park has both paved + natural paths, water – the creek + multiple lakes, trees to climb, fishing, bird-watching, bathrooms at the trailhead + playground, play structures, + many natural play areas. Come explore with us!

Let’s meet near the parking lot again, and head down the trail. If you’re pretty late, find us! We’ll head straight east down the creek trail toward Tabor Lake, stopping to explore along the way.

This week, please bring:
Outdoor, weather-appropriate clothing
Sunscreen, snacks + drinks for your people

Upcoming:

It seems easiest if we use a single park for each month, rather than bouncing around. I am going to spread us out northeast and southwest, then centrally again. My goal is water nearby + a nature play area, whatever else we find is extra. To suggest an alternate park, if you wish, please email me!

Any suggestions for December are welcome!
