UPDATE: Once again, the weather looks stormy tomorrow. Worth the risk if you’re close + into rain (I am!), but I’ll probably pass on the (for me) 35-minute drive unless it looks clear. Sorry, folks, this’ll be a game-time decision. Make your own + share it below! Comments are open.

We’re meeting again at McKay Lake Park + Open Lands @ 1:30pm (R8866177, Broomfield, CO 80023). It’s supposed to be rather chilly, actually, so we should be fine here! Definitely bring sunscreen + lots of water.
The play structures are near the southeast parking lot, so that’s the address I gave above. If you’re not on Google, the lot is off of Zuni + W 138 Ave. There’s also a lake with fishing + a bike track with jumps for those with adventurous kiddos. As usual, water, sunscreen + snacks are recommended.
New here? You’re welcome to join our park days! Currently we consistently have 8-12 families showing up each week with kids aged 3-13. Whole families are welcome. We ask that you are a homeschooling family with at least one kiddo in the 5-16 age range.
Upcoming:
We’re trying McKay Lake Park + Open Lands for May. If you hate it, lmk….
May 25: McKay Lake Park + Open Lands
Favorite options: Bear Creek Greenbelt (Lakewood), McKay Park (Broomfield), Clear Creek Canyon Park, Gateway Trailhead (Golden), Memorial Park (Arvada), Westminster Station Nature Play Park (Westminster), Four Mile Historic Park (Denver), Lair o’ the Bear (Idledale). Suggest your favorite!
Based on weather today, we’re definitely skipping. We’ll be paddle boarding and/or shooting archery at BCLP during the rain’s intermission from 11am-1pm.
We will also miss again for stormy weather. Look forward to seeing you all next week.
