Time to strengthen our finger muscles. Sewing by hand is a challenge for any age, but it’s also fun to bring a drawn character to life, make a sock puppet, or to make the apples the play kitchen set is missing so the stuffies can enjoy autumn. I have some string and lots of buttons anyone can use. Let’s bring extra fabric and some larger needles, and let them decide what to create!
Need more ideas? How about these heart hand warmers, or a ghost cat stuffie, or this stuffed spider, or (more advanced) Wednesday Addams?
I also have a stack of fall lacing cards, if your kids aren’t used to the motions of sewing. If anyone wants to do their mending at this session, feel free to bring a stack.
Let’s do some baking! I have a kid-friendly pumpkin cookie recipe we can assemble onsite – and it makes approximately a billion drop cookies with drizzled maple icing. I’ll also bring a box of gf brownie mix + hopefully everyone can participate. We’ll aim to prep the baked goods to be ready around 2 o’clock, in time for tea. If your kid wants to bake something else, feel free to bring it.
