Monday Thursday This week, Miss Pam talked about writing with quotation marks + how to interview people. The kids then practiced the difference between quoting + paraphrasing on paper. Next week, they’ll interview each other using these skills. / A puzzle + board games were played, bracelets were made, plus a rubbing alcohol + tie-dye …
M – December 9: Engineering + Lego
It’s LEGO day! We’re going to set up a few, timed challenges – tallest tower, sturdiest bridge, longest build, etc – and get started working with bricks that way. From there, we can add a more specific challenge, if people are interested, or else it devolves into a building free for all. Let’s see whether we can’t build a whole town over the course of the day.
M – December 2: Cookies + an Obstacle Course
Let’s start the day by setting up an obstacle course. We’ll clear a wide area for physical play + let the kids put this together. If you have any soft, gymnastic-style materials that we can use for this, please bring them. We’re especially looking for pads, floor beams, things to jump over or go around, etc.

Monday Thursday This week, the kids had the opportunity to learn to make friendship bracelets. They reviewed patterns and colors, but nobody wanted to start yet. M – November 4: Playing with Electricity!
Snap circuits + beyond, we’ll explore all the electric stem challenges we can combine! Please bring whatever you have to add. Lego SPIKE sets, electricity experiments or any type of robotics are what we’re going for today. We’ll keep the sets on several different tables, so everyone has a chance to try without combining pieces. Please be prepared to man your table + help people understand how to use/play with/explore your project/set.
