We’re meeting 1:30pm at Sloan’s Lake Park North (4410 W 26th Ave, Denver, CO 80212). There should still be sledding here, or at least there are some gentle slopes down toward the lake, if the snow sticks around just right. I’m hoping there’s a nice bit of sun here, so we adults can stay warmer. There’s also a nearby walking loop down to the lake, mostly within eyesight.
Otherwise, there’s a playground, lots of open space, climbing trees that double as forts, picnic tables, lots of walking space, porta-potties + basketball/tennis courts.
This week, please bring:
Outdoor, weather-appropriate clothing
Sunscreen, snacks + drinks for your people
Upcoming:
Unless everyone hates it, we’ll meet at this park all of February. PLEASE let me know!
February 9 – Sloan’s Lake Park North
February 16 – Sloan’s Lake Park North
February 23 – Sloan’s Lake Park North
It’s easiest to use a single park each month, rather than bouncing around. I am going to spread us out northeast and southwest, then centrally again. My goal is water nearby + a nature play area, whatever else we find is extra. To suggest an alternate park, if you wish, please email me!
February: Sloan’s Lake Park North
March: Matthews/Winters Park
Collected future options: O’Kayne Park (Lakewood), Bear Creek Greenbelt (Lakewood), Robert F. Clement Park (Littleton), Clear Creek Canyon Park, Gateway Trailhead (Golden), Heritage Dells Park (Golden) Paco Sanchez Park (Denver), Memorial Park (Arvada), Fruitdale Park (Wheat Ridge). Feel free to suggest your favorite!
